VILLAGE POINT FOUNDATION BOARD
Robert Brown is a sixteen year resident of Daphne where he lives with his wife and two children, and he enjoys running, biking, and golf. A graduate of the University of Mobile, Robert is the Purchasing Agent for the University of South Alabama, and is a member of the Olde Towne Daphne Association..
Eric Brunden, a resident of Daphne, is Stewardship Coordinator at the Weeks Bay National Estuarine Research Reserve. Eric received his BS in Environmental Science at the University of Maine – Presque Isle and Master of Education degree at the University of South Alabama. Eric assists with multiple restoration, research, and education activities at the reserve and has a deep interest in conservation. For fun Eric enjoys a multitude of outdoor recreational activities.
ALFRED V. GUARISCO, VICE-CHAIR
Al Guarisco is a founding member of Village Point Foundation and served as chairman for many years. Retired from the banking industry, Mr. Guarisco brings his fiscal responsibility to the VPF Board. He is a lifelong resident of Daphne from one of the founding Italian families to first settle Daphne at the turn of the twentieth century. Mr. Guarisco has been involved in a variety of civic organizations which include Eastern Shore Affordable Housing, Daphne Museum Board, Olde Towne Daphne Association and Kiwanis Club.
MAUREEN NATION, SECRETARY
Maureen Nation is a twenty-two year Daphne resident and she has been a member of Village Point Foundation since its inception in 1996. She currently serves as secretary but she has served also as Vice Chair and Chairman of the Landscape Committee. For eighteen years Maureen has been an active Baldwin County Master Gardener appointed to several offices. Maureen has an extensive knowledge of native plants and our local habitats.
Since 1997 Maureen has been the Coordinator of Volunteers at Weeks Bay National Estuarine
Research Reserve. She has broad experience in managing volunteer programs, and planning
workshops, seminars, and other special events.
SUSAN S. ROSS, TREASURER
Susan Ross is a lifelong resident of the area and her family can be traced back to the Battles Wharf area in the 1800s. Susan worked as a paralegal for fifteen years before taking ten years to be a professional mother. Now Susan works in the field of naval architecture and maritime engineering, and is a great supporter of the Daphne Library. Susan is a member of the Mobile Museum of Art,
Friends of the Daphne Public Library, Ducks Unlimited, National Geographic Society, National
Audubon Society, and The Nature Conservancy.
Richard Scott is the founder and President of Site One on the Internet, Inc., a web site development company based on the Eastern Shore. A native of Montrose, Mr. Scott is a direct descendant of the D’Olive family and serves on the board as a liaison for the D’Olive Cemetery. Retired from IBM, he also serves on the Board of Trustees, Montrose Cemetery, and is active in the Mobile Genealogical Society. He has been active in a number of civic organizations and has served on local government appointed boards. He and his wife, Nancy, have four married children and fourteen grandchildren. His hobby is sailing and he is an active member of the Fairhope Yacht Club.
SELENA VAUGHN, CHAIR
Selena Vaughn is a full time volunteer in the community and has lived in Daphne for eighteen years. Following a career in advertising and public relations, her time is shared between Village Point Foundation, Daphne Beautification Committee, Baldwin County Master Gardeners and volunteering on digs and in the lab with University of South Alabama Archaeology Department. Her interests include local history, preserving native habitat and securing green space for public parks. .
